4th Rabies Alert By Douglas County Animal Control

DOUGLASVILLE, GA -- Douglas County Animal Control Officers responded to a report of a raccoon near N. Annewakee Rd. off of Fairburn Rd., April 22. Animal Control Officers are warning residents that the raccoon tested positive for rabies on April 25, and that days before, on April 18, a raccoon was seen fighting with a cat.

This is the fourth rabid raccoon case Douglas County Animal Services has dealt with since March 11. The other two cases occurred on March 27 and March 31. The three previous cases involved dogs fighting with the raccoons, and this current case involved a possible cat.
