Let me preface this by saying, that I wasn’t prepared for it., even with as much as I tried. Even with as much as I have kept my eye on, for the past year, every theory, every trailer, and every hint.. It is a masterpiece of a film and a roller coaster of intense emotional stimulation.
Though there were times in the movie where I was overfilled with a sense of joy, for the bulk of the movie I was being beat down with grief still lingering from the storyline from Infinity War. This should be expected, as the previous film ended with the “dusting” of half of the universes population. The saturation of hopelessness was difficult to stomach, in that I mean that it was gut-wrenching to watch the characters that I, and many of you, have grown to love over the past 11 years, reach their lowest point.
This film was made for those who have embraced this amazing saga and taken the characters in it as part of their own families. As fantastic of a climax as it is, I don’t believe a person who has never seen a Marvel film prior to this one can appreciate it at the same magnitude. It is for that reason that I believe that if you haven’t seen these other films; either do it quickly, or wait to see this movie for as long as it takes.
It was an amazing experience to see this film on opening night in my small town theater, in a packed house and there is a huge possibility that I will go and see it once more before it is removed from the line up. However, I would be doing a horrible disservice by suggesting that you just go because it’s the thing to do.
